Mate is an infusion prepared with yerba mate leaves (Ilex paraguaiensis), a plant native to the basins of the Paraná and Paraguay rivers and the upper reaches of Uruguay. These plants, previously dried, cut and ground, form yerba mate. We recommend that you moisten the yerba with cold or warm water and never subject it to a temperature higher than 75º C.
